Order before August 13 for the best chance of avoiding potential new U.S. tariffs.

US Shipping Updates

✨ Update .August 7th, 2026

If you’ve landed here after seeing the announcement on the website, first of all, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Uneven is a tiny jewelry studio based in Québec, Canada. Every piece is designed, hand carved, finished and packed here in my little workshop, with all of our castings done by another local Québec business.

Many of the people who have supported Uneven over the years are based in the United States, and I can’t thank you enough for making this little spooky dream possible.

What’s happening?

The U.S. government has announced new tariffs on many Canadian products that are currently scheduled to take effect on August 19, 2026.

Based on the information available today, jewelry appears to be included in the affected product categories. I’m still hopeful that negotiations or further guidance may change how these measures are applied, and I’ll continue following the situation.

What does this mean for Uneven?

Because almost every piece is made to order, I don’t want to risk your order being caught in the middle of these changes while crossing the border.

For that reason, I plan to temporarily pause U.S. orders on August 13, 2026.

This is simply my best chance of ensuring existing orders leave the studio and cross the border before the new measures are expected to take effect.

If negotiations change or more information becomes available before then, I’ll happily adjust this plan.

What happens after August 13?

My goal is to reopen U.S. orders as soon as I have a clear, reliable way to ship under the new rules.

This may include collecting any required import duties during checkout if necessary, but I’m still waiting for final guidance before making any changes.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting a piece…

If there’s something you’ve had your eye on for this spooky season, I encourage you to place your order before August 13.

Not because I want to pressure you...but because I’d love to have the best possible chance of getting your jewelry safely into your hands before anything changes, and avoiding possible fees.

A quick note about turnaround times

For the upcoming week, I’ll be doing everything I can to prepare and ship U.S. orders before my temporary pause.

If I ever feel I can’t complete your order in time, I’ll contact you personally before shipping so we can decide together on the best solution.

Thank you.

I know these changes are frustrating.

The rising cost of precious metals has already made handcrafted jewelry more expensive to produce, and adding new trade barriers doesn’t make things any easier...for you or for small makers like me.

Whether you’re able to place an order right now or simply continue supporting Uneven on from afar, thank you.

Your support, your kind words, your photos and review, and your love for all things spooky have helped this tiny Canadian studio grow into what it is today.

I’m incredibly grateful, and I’ll continue sharing any updates here as soon as I have them.

  • Most Uneven pieces are made to order.

Closing U.S. orders on August 13 gives me the best possible chance of finishing, packing and shipping existing orders before the proposed tariff changes take effect on August 19.

This is a precautionary measure to avoid your order being caught in the middle of changing import rules.

  • If you’ve already placed an order, I’ll do everything I can to have it shipped before August 19.

If I ever feel I won’t be able to get your order across the border before then, I’ll contact you personally before shipping so we can decide on the best solution together.

You’ll never be left wondering what’s happening with your order.

  • Because new US Tariffs are probably coming into place on August 19th. any parcel will require prepaid duties to cross borders.
Most of our jewelry is made to order, and I want to wait for official clarity so your jewelry don't get stuck at borders.

  • I wish I could give you an exact date. The moment I know how to move forward, I'll reopen U.S shipping and share an update through my newsletter, socials, and update this page.

  • If the proposed tariffs take effect as currently announced, U.S. customers may be required to pay import duties on eligible orders.
What is on the table at this moment is a 50% tariffs for our product category...

Those charges are government import fees;they do not go to Uneven.

I’m still waiting for final guidance on exactly how those charges will be collected, and I’ll share more information as soon as I have it.

  • Then I’ll happily change my plans too.

If the tariffs are delayed, reduced or cancelled before August 19, I’ll update this page immediately and reopen U.S. orders if possible.

I’m hoping for the best and will continue sharing updates as soon as I have reliable information.
